43rd Annual Cherries for Charity Event to Benefit Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and YWCA Cass Clay at Hornbacher’s

FARGO-MOORHEAD — July 9, 2025 — The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center (RACC) and YWCA Cass Clay are excited to announce the 43rd annual Cherries for Charity.

This event takes place at all eight Hornbacher’s locations across Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo, Wednesday, July 9 through Tuesday, July 15. Twenty-five cents per pound of Washington Bing Cherries sold will be donated to RACC and YWCA – providing “sweet support for survivors” served by both organizations.

Since its inception in 1982 by the Fargo Moorhead Cosmopolitan Club, Cherries for Charity has been a hallmark of community collaboration and support. With the added partnership of Hornbacher’s in 1984, the event has raised over $528,000 to date for individuals served by RACC and YWCA. This is equivalent to 1.84 million pounds of cherries sold, highlighting the incredible generosity of the Fargo-Moorhead community and its commitment to supporting those in need.

More than just a sweet treat, the impact of this support makes a real difference for those experiencing violence and homelessness.

Domestic violence and abuse happens right here in our community. We see it in the news and when our neighbors seek help from RACC and YWCA. Community support of events like Cherries for Charity ensures survivors have a safe place to go and resources and support to rebuild their lives.

Members of the community are encouraged to visit any Hornbacher’s location July 9-15 to purchase cherries and help support the work of RACC and YWCA. Together, we can make a difference for survivors of violence and abuse in Fargo-Moorhead.
