Buying cherries helps support local nonprofits across Fargo-Moorhead

25 cents from every pound of cherries sold at Hornbacher's benefits Sorella and YWCA Cass Clay through July 14.

FARGO — It's peak cherry season, and in Fargo-Moorhead, buying a bag means more than just enjoying fresh fruit.

Hornbacher's is raising money for Sorella and YWCA Cass Clay with its "Cherries for Charity" event.

The fundraiser is a community staple, running for 44 years. Stands are up across all seven Hornbacher's locations in Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead.

For every pound of cherries sold, 25 cents will be donated.
