Champions of Empowerment (February):

Champions of Empowerment is a time for us to provide an update on YWCA’s work while honoring our members and supporters. We recognize our outstanding donors and volunteers, invite a YWCA program participant to share her experience, and present our ‘Friends’ awards.

Dakota Medical, Impact, and Alex Stern Family Foundations jointly host this 24-hour online give-a-thon designed to inspire the Fargo-Moorhead community (residents and businesses alike) to increase support of local nonprofits.

This fun and delicious event provides an opportunity for us to engage the general public in our mission in a unique way. We feature chocolate desserts and delectable treats donated from area restaurants, bakeries, and individuals. Attendees learn about YWCA while they dine, bid on silent auction items, listen to live music, and take their chance at winning premium raffle items.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October):

YWCA’s unite nationwide to raise awareness about the cycle of violence. Locally, as a part of our mission to respond to the needs of survivors of violence, we raise awareness through a variety of activities with a focus on violence prevention and work to mobilize our community against violence.

Unique Boutique (December):

For many families staying with us at YWCA Emergency Shelter, purchasing gifts for loved ones simply isn’t an option because of other critical financial priorities like food, clothing, paying down debt, and savings goals. This event gives women the opportunity to “shop” for their families free of charge, making their holiday season a little brighter. The boutique features various gifts to choose from, all generously donated by individuals, organizations, and churches.

North Pole Holiday Party (December):

The North Pole Holiday Party give children calling YWCA home during the holiday season an evening of fun, games and merriment! The evening ends with special visitors from the North Pole.
