Thank you for taking this challenge! If this is your first day of joining us for the 14-Day Equity Challenge, welcome. If you are returning after previous engagement with the challenge, nice work! We are glad you are here.
This challenge is designed to push you out of your comfort zone, think critically about difficult topics, and grow in your understanding of the ways people and systems perpetuate (and have the power to eliminate) racism. We’re excited to invite you to this opportunity to dive deeper into racial equity and social justice.

Day 14: Change Starts Here
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the last day of YWCA Cass Clay’s 14-Day Equity Challenge. Over the past two weeks, you’ve learned about what race is and what it means for people of color. You’ve read about how race intersects with other identities and watched videos on why race affects everything from how we’re treated in hospitals to how we interact with those around us. You’ve seen how racism leads to trauma and learned what can be done to begin to remedy that trauma.
This all leads us to a new kind of question—What now? You know the facts and you’ve heard the stories, but what can you do with that knowledge? Put simply, it’s time to act. Action doesn’t need to be big or organized. You don’t need to run for office or start a movement. Action can be something small, personal, and spontaneous. Take the initiative to check your own bias, speak out against bigotry, and share your new knowledge with others. Small acts today can open the doors for greater action in the future. It doesn’t matter where we start so long as we do. Change starts here. Change starts with you!
Today’s final challenge will give you the tools to turn knowledge into action and begin a new journey to anti-racism.
