Make a Difference: Become a Member Today!

Dear Friend:

As a past supporter of the YWCA Cass Clay, you believe in our mission and work, and for this reason we invite you to become a member of our organization. We are hosting our annual membership drive to help sustain programs and services provided to women and children in our community.

There are many reasons women and children come to us for help. Unfortunately, domestic violence continues to be the number one reason. In 2008, over 57% of our clients reported domestic violence as the primary reason they sought shelter. It is crucial that a safe haven exist in our community to protect women and children from situations of violence.

Our greatest challenge is to meet the increasing demands for our services while remaining financially and structurally viable.  Since building the new shelter in 2004, five new programs have been added to better meet the needs of women and children and enhance our ability to create lasting and permanent change in the lives of our clients and community. Additionally, over the past 18 months, the shelter has consistently been over our 65 person capacity. 

To ensure the YWCA continues to provide comprehensive programs and services to women and children in need, please consider making a membership gift that will keep families safe, offer hope, and transform lives.

With your help, the YWCA Cass Clay will continue to fulfill its mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.  This is no easy task, but we are no ordinary organization.
