Shelter Assistant PT |

| Essential
Duties: |
- Admit women and children to the shelter ensuring that new residents are fully oriented to the YWCA Shelter. Responsible for enforcing rules and regulations for all residents. Evict as necassary.
- Ensure residents are supplied with necessary items (food, clothing, etc.)
- Schedule case management appointments for residents arriving during night.
- Maintain staff/participant records including admittance, daily journal, resident's log, child protection, and other reports as assigned.
- Ensure security of the shelter: locks, security systems, fire alarm systems and security checklist. Respond appropriately to alarms.
- Answer phones and respond to door buzzers appropriately.
- Provide off site clients with food basket and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned by Shelter Director.

- Responsible for attendance at staffings and shelter manager meetings.
- Be available to accept donations and properly store them.
- To provide First Aid and CPR as needed in emergency situations.
- Responsible to lead the weekly resident's meeting.
- Be available to give tours of the shelter as needed.

| Qualifications: |
- Female
- High school graduate. 2 years college in related human service field or equivalent education/experience is required.
- Training or experience in working in crisis intervention.
- CPR and first aid certified.
- Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, homelessness, mental illness, chemical dependence and child development issues is essential. Knowledge of community resources is helpful.
- Must be able to travel offsite as necessary.
- Meet all background check requirements.
- An understanding of and an appreciation for the
fundamental principals of the YWCA, which is to empower women and
children and eliminate racism, is essential.

Shelter Case Manager |

Duties: |
- Coordinate case management services within the shelter and through the utilization of community partners/referral agencies.
- Build relationships with referral agencies and maintain community resource manuals used by shelter staff in providing referrals.
- Coordinate and redistribute community resources to YWCA participants (i.e. Communal funds, Seasons of Hope, and Unique Boutique).
- Admit women and children to the shelter ensuring that new residents are fully oriented to the YWCA Shelter. Responsible for enforcing rules and regulations for all residents. Evict as necessary.
- Ensure residents are supplied with necessary items (food, clothing, etc.).
- Provide weekly case management services to include: assessment of needs, participant goals and plan development, monitoring the implementation and evaluation of goals/plans in collaboration with residents.
- Maintain Staff/participant records including admittance, daily journal, residents’ log, child protection, and other reports as assigned.
- 8. Ensure security of the shelter by appropriately responding to phone, door buzzers, locks, security systems, fire alarm systems and security checklists.
- Provide off-site clients with food basket and supplies.
- Training and evaluation of interns and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director.

| Qualifications: |
- Female. (BFOQ)
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences (i.e. social work, CDFS, sociology, criminal justice, human services) or equivalent work/experience required. At least two years experience in providing case management services.
- Meets all background check requirements.
- Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, homelessness, mental illness, chemical dependence and child development issues is essential. One to two years’ experience in a similar field is preferred.
- Knowledge of local community resources and the ability to work within social systems is a must.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
- An understanding of, appreciation for, and support of the mission of the YWCA Cass Clay, which is “eliminating racism and empowering women.”

| Physical Requirements: |
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Operation of the following equipment is required: telephone, copier, facsimile, and computer.
- The employee must be able to walk up steps, lifts objects up to 35 pounds, and respond to alarms and doors.
